You're Invited!

We are pleased to invite you, our faithful customers, to a Groundbreaking Ceremony at our NEW HOME!

~//~

DOTHAN, A.L. - On Tuesday, October 1, Eagle Eye Outfitters will break ground to mark the start of construction on its new storefront located at 3535 Ross Clark Circle. The building is formerly Davis Theatre Company’s Northside Cinema One.

“We are excited to bring new life to this Dothan landmark. It has been locally owned by the Davis family for almost 50 years, and we are blessed to have the opportunity to build on this legacy,” said Eagle Eye owners Mark and Susan Anderson.

Renovation will transform the building into a premier 38,000 square foot facility which will offer a unique shopping experience to the Wiregrass.  Construction is expected to be completed in the spring of 2014.

The public is invited to attend the ceremony at 8:00 a.m. October 1.  The ceremony will include a preview of the renovations and a time of prayer and dedication.  Customers may also view renovation plans at Eagle Eye’s current location for the duration of the construction process.

Eagle Eye Outfitters is the Wiregrass area’s only locally owned outdoor lifestyle shop.  Founded in 1999, the company will celebrate its 15th anniversary in its new location.

Shop ALABAMA & Shop SMALL this Sales Tax Holiday Weekend!

It's hard to believe that it's almost time to go back to school! This weekend, August 2-4, the states of Alabama and Florida have declared a sales tax holiday on certain items that students may need to head back to school.

Eagle Eye Outfitters encourages our customers to shop small this year. By shopping and eating at local independent businesses, 2-3 times more money goes back into your local economy than it would if you spent your dollars at chain shops and restaurants.

And, since Florida's sales tax holiday falls on the same weekend as Alabama's, here are a few reasons to shop ALABAMA for back to school.

Why shop ALABAMA?

  • Clothing:
    • ALABAMA: tax exempt up to $100 per item
    • Florida: tax exempt up to $75 per item
  • School Supplies:
    • ALABAMA: tax exempt up to $50 per item
    • Florida: tax exempt up to $15 per item
  • Books:
    • ALABAMA: tax exempt up to $30 per book
    • Florida: not exempt
  • Computers
    • Both states: tax exempt up to $750

For more information on shopping small visit, www.independentwestand.org.

It's WIRED week!

Faithful Customers,

It's that time of year again! WIRED week is June 24th-28th. Some of you may already know a lot about this summer camp, but we want to ensure that all of you are familiar with what takes place during this awesome week each year.

BEGINNINGS: WIRED began in 2008 and has taken place each summer since then.  WIRED is a weeklong mission camp that exists to "wire" local churches, businesses, and service organizations together for a common good: impacting our community by meeting needs for the glory of God. The camp started with only 250 student participants but has since increased to nearly 1,000.

OVERVIEW: During WIRED week, middle school, high school, and college students along with adult leaders serve throughout the Wiregrass doing construction projects, sports camps, Vacation Bible Schools (VBS), and social ministries. Thousands of lives have been touched as a result of this camp. Every night during the week, these groups gather to worship together at the Dothan Civic Center.

EAGLE EYE PARTNERSHIP: Eagle Eye has a unique privilege with WIRED.  Our owner, Mark Anderson, serves as the camp director, and many of our staff work at the camp in some capacity. Additionally, Eagle Eye's financial support is an essential component of WIRED's existence.  In past years, Eagle Eye has closed Monday through Thursday of WIRED week so our entire staff could serve each of those days.

THIS YEAR: This year things will be a little different.  We will remain open for business but will operate with a much smaller staff. Store hours will be 9 AM - 6 PM. This will allow us to accomplish two objectives: First, it will allow us the opportunity to serve throughout the week as we rotate staff from the store to ministry sites. Second, we will be able to make an even stronger financial contribution this year than in years past.

OUR INVESTMENT: With all of that being said, Eagle Eye has committed to donating all of this week's sales to WIRED.  We don't want to promote this in a self-serving manner; our goal is not for Eagle Eye to be recognized but for the Lord's work to continue in our community. The Wiregrass is full of great people, churches, and civic organizations committed to impacting the lives of others.  We are happy to be one of the many doing so in this area.

Next time you shop with us, please ask some of our store staff about this camp. Each staff member will have his/her own WIRED experiences to share.  As always, we appreciate all of your continued support & patronage!

Our customers and God's provision are the reason we have a business and are able to serve our community.

Thank you!
EEO Owners & Staff

Eagle Eye to host TOMS One Day Without Shoes Event

On Tuesday, April 16, TOMS Shoes and Eagle Eye Outfitters will ask Dothan to go barefoot for their annual One Day Without Shoes event.  Each year, TOMS encourages supporters to leave their shoes at home for one day to raise awareness of the impact a pair of shoes can have on a child’s life.

Millions of children worldwide spend their days barefoot or without proper footwear, exposing them to injury and disease.  One Day Without Shoes is a concerted effort to bring attention to the need for shoes for these children and to connect local communities with ways to help.

Activities at Eagle Eye Outfitters will include barefoot games, foot painting, a shoe drop to local nonprofit organizations and an hourly door prize drawing featuring prizes from Eagle Eye and other area businesses.

A shoe drive is being held at Eagle Eye now through April 16.  New and gently used shoes can be donated during business hours at Eagle Eye, and each pair donated will equal one entry in the drawing held during the One Day Without Shoes event.  Shop barefoot on April 16 to earn an additional entry.

TOMS shoes was founded in 2006 by Blake Mycoskie after befriending children in Argentina and noticing that they had no shoes to protect their feet. Hoping to help, he created the shoe company and its “one for one” mission: for every pair of TOMS purchased, a pair is given to a child in need.  The One Day Without Shoes event is held annually with partners and participants across the world.
